lunch was at ben thanh market. some local store... like hawker centre. i had pho. wat's pho? it's actually vietnamese noodle. served with beef, pork or chicken. it taste good... but was too sick to appreciate this local delight. jalan abit in ben thanh before heading back to hotel.
checked in... settled down... popped panadol... and sleep. supposed to go for dinner then apocalypse now... but i juz feel tt resting is a better choice. i still haf 2 days to enjoy... ya... suppose to enjoy... now end up enjoying shitting watery stool. so toom, cand and bin left for dinner and bought bread for me. as it was raining, the threesome cant go anywhere too. i spent the nite wif toom watching tv. listening to vietnamese. nhk had a pretty reporter. cnn was talking bout airbus and boeing. hbo was showing skeleton keys. we decided to sleep at ard 10.
morning breakfast at 8, and we headed to china town in cab. visited the binh tay market. it's like tiong bahru lah... or our local chinatown... but in a much larger scale. nothing much to see. then we decided to look for the church tt look like a temple. a cantonese church. walk walk walk... damn hot... at least my fever subsided. but we still enjoy walking... taking photos along the way... all sorts of photos... of watever we dun see in singapore. lunch was at pham ngu lao, the backpacker's street in saigon. lots of budget hotels, nice chill out cafes/restaurats/pubs. we booked our tour for cao dai temple and cu chi tunnels at one of the tour agency there. we started shopping too!!! cand shopped for the traditional costume, the ao dai. i got a berms, a singlet the bears the communist star, and a cap that's embroided with e star too. toom recce for his art work. after shopping, we left pham ngu lao for danh sinh market. it's like beach rd army market, selling us army and old vietnam war military accessories and apparels. i hunt down the badges... spent sgd 40 on them... but they were hard to find in sin.
back to hotel, unload, me and toom sleep. cand and bin went out to jalan again. they really can walk... kudos. they came back, woke us up, and we had dinner on saigon river. on one of the vessel restaurants. plan for the nite was to club. at last... we hit the so called hottest club in town: apocalypse now. so happy when we reach there, but went inside... i was quite disappointed, so were cand and toom. we had a drink... and off to the next club we can find. the taxi uncle who drove us to budget terminal recommended gossip and volcano. we decided on gossip. the viet cabby drove us all the way there and found out it was closed. so he recommended another place. the cab fare end up to be vv high. we were so pissed off. we saw the club signage. liquid club. we saw pretty ladies standing at the lobby... quite scared tt it's a nightclub with girls. went up to the club... the bass was pumping, techno was spinning, lights were flickering and strobing... ho tiew! good one lah... but the server kept puching us to get a bottle of hennessy. no way man... there's onli 4 of us in a foreign club. we got beer instead. this is where u find real pretty vietnamese gers. tough not a lot... but they exist. tall and slender... but i'm not gonna touch them... who noes who waits outside the club. since we're already in a club... how can we not bogie? off to the dancefloor we go. totally enjoyed the strobe light. club closes at 12... and the last song was a vietnamese love song... spectacular scene... seeing couples hugging and dancing slowly. the 4 of us juz stood at one corner and embrace the moment.
back to hotel... sleep...
